Type: Mineral
Mineral feeds are dissolved minerals your plant can use straight away. They're fast-acting and precise, but it is possible to overdo them, so stick to the dose.

Flowering on Tap Water, Without the pH Fight

There's a particular kind of frustration known only to hard-water growers: you set your reservoir pH perfectly on Monday, and by Wednesday it has crept back up as if you'd never touched it. The culprit is the bicarbonate in British tap water, and it gets more stubborn just when flowering plants need things steady.

IONIC Hard Water Bloom is the flowering partner to Hard Water Grow, made specifically for hard or mains tap water. It's more acidic than the standard Hydro Bloom, so it neutralises those bicarbonates itself and you need less pH down. The calcium is balanced for what your tap water already brings, and the potassium to nitrogen ratio shifts towards flowers, fruit and yield. One bottle, nothing to mix.

Why It Works

  • Designed for British hard water: formulated for the minerals already in your tap water.
  • Steadier pH: neutralises the bicarbonates that push hard water's pH up.
  • Built for flowering: the K to N ratio is set for flowers, fruit and yield.
  • One-part feed: no A and B to measure or mix in the right order.
  • Longer between tank changes: fewer hard-water problems means the reservoir stays balanced for longer.

For Houseplant & Kitchen Growers

Growing tomatoes, chillies or strawberries in a countertop hydro kit filled from a hard-water tap? Switch to IONIC Hard Water Bloom once they start to flower. It feeds fruiting plants properly without you needing RO water or constant pH correction.

For Growers

The flowering base feed for hydro on hard or mains tap water. Run vegetative growth on IONIC Hard Water Grow, then switch when flowering starts. On soft or RO water, use IONIC Hydro Bloom instead.

  • When to use: weeks 6–12, with a water-only flush in week 13.
  • Dose: follow the IONIC Hard Water feed chart. As a guide, around 5–6ml per litre.
  • Booster: add IONIC PK through the heaviest flowering weeks.
  • Cal-mag: not part of the routine hard water schedule. Only add a cal-mag supplement if you see a recognised deficiency.

Rose's Pro-Tip: Hard water varies a lot from one postcode to the next. If you're unsure how hard yours is, your water supplier's website will tell you, and anything over about 120mg/l is hard enough for this formula.
