Galvanised Square Wall Flange – A Neat, Solid Finish Where Your Duct Meets the Wall

The point where a duct passes through a wall is the one part of a ventilation run that people actually see, and the part most often bodged with expanding foam and hope. A square wall flange does it properly: a flat galvanised steel plate with a round spigot that screws securely to the wall and gives your ducting a rigid, sealed connection point. Tidy to look at, solid to work with, and it stops the duct from being pulled out of the wall every time someone knocks it.

Terminating a cooker hood or kitchen extract through an external wall, tumble dryer and utility room vents, bathroom and en-suite extract fans, garage and workshop extraction, loft ventilation, and greenhouse or shed ventilation runs.

How to Fit

Position the flange over your wall opening and screw it in place through the pre-drilled holes using fixings suited to your wall type. Slide your ducting over the spigot and seal the join with aluminium foil duct tape or a jubilee clip.

🔧 Pro-Tip: on an external wall, run a bead of exterior-grade sealant around the back of the flange before screwing it down. It keeps draughts and rain out of the gap around the core hole.
