Jiffy PRO7 Coco 70/30

From Jiffy, with over 60 years of making premium substrates. A light, airy mix of 70% RHP-certified coco pith and 30% perlite, washed and buffered for a stable pH and low EC, with Active Trichoderma for healthier roots. The coco is produced in Jiffy's ISO 22000-certified facilities in Sri Lanka for consistent quality, bag after bag.

Why a 70/30 Mix?

  • Even moisture: coco holds water evenly through the pot, so roots don't swing from soaked to bone dry.
  • Air at the roots: the perlite and open coco fibre keep oxygen pockets open, reducing the risk of overwatering.
  • Gnat-resistant: clean coco gives fungus gnats far less to breed in than standard peat compost.
  • Faster rooting: trace elements and Trichoderma help young roots establish quickly.
  • Peat-free and ready to use straight from the bag, with no compression.

Perfect For

  • Calathea, Maranta and Stromanthe: prayer plants that need constant, even moisture
  • Pothos, Scindapsus, heartleaf Philodendron and Syngonium
  • Ferns, Fittonia and Peperomia
  • Cuttings and propagation
  • Hand-watered pots and drip-feed systems

Potting a Monstera, Alocasia or Anthurium? These chunky-rooted climbers want even more air around their roots. Jiffy PRO7 LECA & Coco 60/40 is the better match.

How to Use

  1. Fluff it up: bags can settle in transit, so break up any lumps before potting.
  2. Pot up: fill your pot, settle the mix by tapping the sides, and plant.
  3. Pre-soak: water through with a three-quarter to full strength feed until it drains from the bottom.
  4. Keep it off the runoff: don't leave pots sitting in drained water in the saucer.

Using drippers? Coco is best fed little and often, but fine particles can block drip lines, so fit a filter and check it regularly.

Before you buy: it needs a liquid feed from day one. Intense Nutrients Coco A&B is an affordable, reliable two-part feed made for coco.
