Type: Mineral
Mineral feeds are dissolved minerals your plant can use straight away. They're fast-acting and precise, but it is possible to overdo them, so stick to the dose.

The Bottle Every Grower Ends Up Keeping on the Shelf

Some products earn their reputation with clever marketing. Formulex earned it the slow way, by quietly working for decades on windowsills, in propagators and in commercial greenhouses until it became what growers simply call an industry standard.

The trick is in its design. Formulex is a complete, single-bottle nutrient made from pure mineral salts, with an inbuilt buffer that holds the feed at around pH 6 when mixed with ordinary tap water. No pH meters, no A and B, no guesswork. It's gentle enough for the most delicate seedlings and cuttings, yet complete enough to feed plants at any stage of growth.

Why It Works

  • Complete: all the major, secondary and trace elements plants need, in one bottle.
  • pH sorted for you: buffered to sit at around pH 6 with tap water, so there's nothing to adjust.
  • Gentle for young plants: a soft formula that won't overwhelm seedlings and cuttings.
  • Versatile: use it in soil or hydro, as a root feed or a foliar spray.
  • Concentrated: 1 litre makes 100–200 litres of feed.

For Houseplant Lovers

If you only ever buy one plant food, make it this one. Formulex is brilliant for propagating houseplant cuttings in water or plugs, raising seedlings, and as an everyday feed for leafy houseplants. Mist it onto leaves as a foliar feed, or add a capful to the watering can.

For Growers

  • Seedlings and cuttings: soak your propagation media (Root Riot, Jiffy plugs, rockwool) in a weak Formulex solution, then feed lightly.
  • Foliar feeding: mist young plants for fast uptake through the leaves.
  • General use: 1 litre makes 100–200 litres of nutrient solution, so roughly 5–10ml per litre depending on the stage.
  • Pairs with: Clonex Rooting Gel. You'll get 10% off the Clonex when you buy the two together.

Rose's Pro-Tip: Taking cuttings? Dip them in Clonex, push them into a Formulex-soaked plug, and mist them with weak Formulex every couple of days. It's the classic propagation combo for a reason.
