CANNA Coco Pebble Mix 60/40 – Coco That Holds Water, Pebbles That Hold Air

Most 60/40 mixes on the market are 60% clay pebbles and 40% coco, so they drain fast and dry out fast, which means a lot of watering. CANNA flipped the ratio. Coco Pebble Mix is 60% CANNA Coco Professional Plus and 40% CANNA Aqua Clay Pebbles. The extra coco holds more water and nutrients so you water less often, while the pebbles keep permanent air pockets open round the roots. In CANNA's own research, this was the blend that gave the most stable results.

That balance suits everyone from houseplant collectors with rot-prone tropicals to growers running drip systems: steady moisture without ever sitting in soggy, airless mud.

Perfect For

• Alocasia and jewel Alocasia (Frydek, Polly, Black Velvet): moisture-hungry but prone to rot, so they thrive with constant moisture and lots of air
• Anthurium and velvet-leaf Philodendron: roots that like to grip coarse, airy material
• Monstera and climbing aroids
• Hoya, Peperomia and orchids: plants that hate waterlogging
• Self-watering pots such as Lechuza, where the coco wicks water up and the pebbles keep it airy
• Growers and hydroponics: hand-watered pots, drip irrigation, flood and drain, and other systems that use an inert substrate, for tomatoes, chillies, peppers, strawberries and more

Three Ways to Use It

1. On its own as a complete chunky aroid mix or a semi-hydro medium.
2. In a hydro or drip system as a ready-mixed inert substrate, with no blending required.
3. As an upgrade for ordinary compost: mix 1 part Coco Pebble with 2 parts of your usual compost for an instantly open, free-draining mix.

How to Use

Pot up as normal and water through. This is an unfertilised mix, so start a liquid feed from the first watering. CANNA Coco A&B is made for it, and half strength is plenty for houseplants.

🌿 Rose's Pro-Tip: rinse a few handfuls through a sieve before potting a precious plant. It washes out any fine dust from the pebbles and gives roots the cleanest possible start.
