​There is a widespread, and rather expensive, misunderstanding in modern horticulture that all growing media behave in roughly the same way. They absolutely do not. Coco coir is a magnificent, sustainable substrate, but it is highly porous. If you pour a standard nutrient solution into it, the water will frequently take the path of least resistance—channeling straight down the sides and out of the bottom. You are essentially pouring money down the drain while the center of the root ball remains parched.

​SHOGUN Samurai Coco addresses the actual physics of the problem, rather than just blindly throwing more NPK at it. It is a highly sophisticated two-part base formulation that completely outflanks conventional nutrients by including two frankly brilliant technological interventions: SmartZen® and AquaZen®. By altering how the nutrient behaves once it hits the coir, it ensures maximum biological efficiency for legitimate, high-yielding commercial crops.

  • ​The Metric of Success: For the truly meticulous horticulturalist, test your run-off. Your drain conductivity (EC) should sit between 0-15% higher than your input solution. If it climbs higher, increase your run-off volume to flush the media.
