There are two ways to feed a plant in soil. You can pour in ready-made minerals and bypass the soil entirely, or you can feed the living soil and let it hand nutrients to the roots at the pace they need. The second way is slower to start, but it builds healthier soil, healthier plants and better-tasting harvests.

Plagron Alga Grow is an organic, algae-based base feed for the growth stage. It contains organic nitrogen for steady growth, amino acids that help soil life convert nutrients faster, and algae extracts that strengthen plants against drought and temperature swings. It's suitable for organic growing and improves soil structure as it feeds.

Alga Grow is a favourite with balcony gardeners, bonsai growers and houseplant keepers alike. Anthuriums, herbs, chillies and veg in containers all respond well. On rainwater or tap water with a natural Plagron soil, you don't need to worry about pH or EC.

For Growers

Dose: shake well, then add 4ml per litre of water (1:250) at every watering during the growth stage.
Soil only: not suitable for hydroponic systems. Flush irrigation lines after use.
Timing: organic feeds take around two weeks to be converted by soil life, so start early. On Lightmix, start straight away; on Growmix, from week 2.
Then: switch to Plagron Alga Bloom when flowering starts.

Rose's Pro-Tip: A mixed Alga Grow solution can smell a bit earthy and turn cloudy after a while. That's the natural organic ingredients at work and it's harmless, but it's best to mix fresh each time.
