Galvanised Duct Reducer – Metal Ducting Size Adaptor
Galvanised Duct Reducer – For When Your Fan and Your Duct Don't Speak the Same Size
It happens on almost every ventilation job: the fan has a 150mm spigot, the existing duct is 100mm, or the wall outlet is a size bigger than everything else. Rather than replacing perfectly good parts, a duct reducer simply bridges the gap. This precisely made galvanised steel taper joins two ducts of different diameters with a smooth transition, so air keeps flowing efficiently instead of tumbling over a sudden step.
Perfect For
Connecting a cooker hood or extractor fan to a different-size duct, adapting tumble dryer and utility vents, matching an inline fan to existing ducting, workshop dust and fume extraction, and greenhouse and garage ventilation.
Key Features
- Smooth tapered transition between two duct sizes
- Works in either direction, reducing or increasing
- High-quality galvanised steel: rigid and corrosion-resistant
- Accurately sized ends for a close, low-leak fit
- Eight size combinations from 100–125mm up to 315–355mm
How to Fit
Push each end into or over the matching ducting or fitting, then seal both joins with aluminium foil duct tape or jubilee clips for an airtight connection.
🔧 Pro-Tip: stepping a duct down in size adds resistance and makes a fan work harder and louder. Where you can, keep the duct the same size as the fan outlet or larger, and use the reducer right at the point where it's needed.
