CANNA Coco Professional Plus is the world's best-known coco coir, made from the crushed husks of coconuts. It's washed, buffered and ready to go straight from the bag, with no soaking, rinsing or prep. Just open it, fluff it up and pot.

Type: Unfertilised. It contains no plant food, so there's no risk of fertiliser burn on sensitive roots. Just start your usual liquid feed from the first watering.

Build Your Own Mix

Pure coco is the perfect base for DIY potting mixes. These are three easy starting points:

Everyday houseplant mix: 7 parts Pro Plus to 3 parts perlite
Chunky aroid mix: 6 parts Pro Plus to 4 parts LECA clay pebbles
Cactus and succulent mix: 4 parts Pro Plus, 3 parts perlite and 3 parts grit

Which CANNA Coco Is Right for You?

Coco Pro Plus (this one): the best all-rounder. Holds moisture well and is ready to use.
Coco Natural: more lightly buffered, for experienced growers who like to fine-tune their own feeding.
Coco Coarse: extra airy and fast-draining. Choose this one for Monstera, Alocasia and Anthurium, or if you tend to overwater.

How to Use

Fluff it up: break up any lumps from the bag with your hands.
Pot up: fill your pot, firm gently around the roots and water through until it drains.
Feed regularly: it contains no plant food, so use a liquid feed with most waterings. CANNA Coco A&B is made for it. For houseplants, half strength is usually plenty.
Water by feel: coco dries from the top down, so push a finger in and water when the top couple of centimetres feel dry.

Rose's Pro-Tip

Coco looks dry on top long before it's dry underneath, which catches a lot of people out. Lift the pot instead: a light pot means it's time to water, a heavy one means wait. You'll never overwater again.
