RAM Combi-Duct – 4" to 12" Lightproof Black Ducting (5m & 10m)
Light is sneaky. A grow tent can be perfectly sealed and still leak a glow out through the one thing nobody thinks about, its silver ducting. That matters when your plants need real darkness, and it matters when you'd rather your setup didn't glow through a window at night. RAM Combi-Duct solves both: a black PVC outer layer that's fully lightproof, over a foil inner, round a high-tensile steel helix.
Why Combi-Duct
- Lightproof. The black PVC outer blocks light leaks in both directions, so your dark period stays dark and nothing shines out.
- Four-layer laminate. A foil inner and PVC outer make it more airtight and vapour-proof than plain aluminium ducting.
- Plant-safe and tough. The PVC outer resists tears and scuffs, and doesn't flake like foil.
- Quieter than bare foil. The extra layers damp some of the rush and rattle.
- Looks the part. Matte black vanishes against a black tent or a dark ceiling.
Sizes
Every diameter comes in 5m and 10m lengths: 4" (102mm), 5" (127mm), 6" (152mm), 8" (203mm), 10" (254mm) and 12" (315mm). Match the ducting to your fan and filter.
Aluduct, Combi-Duct or Sonoduct?
| Ducting | Noise | Pick it if… |
|---|---|---|
| Aluduct | Good | You want cheap, light and easy |
| Combi-Duct (this one) | Better | Light leaks or looks matter |
| Sonoduct | Best | Noise, heat loss or condensation is a problem |
Not just for growers
- Grow tents, propagation and mushroom chambers that need true darkness
- Extractor runs where you'd rather not see shiny foil
- Workshops, garages and utility rooms
Rose's Pro-Tip
"Pull your ducting fully out and cut it to length, because bunched-up duct roars and steals airflow. If light leaks are your worry, check the joints too: a wrap of aluminium tape over each clip seals out the last chink of light as well as air."
FAQ
How do I cut it?
Slice the layers with a sharp knife, then snip the steel wire with side cutters. Tuck the cut end of the wire inwards.
How do I attach it?
Slide it over the fan or filter spigot, secure it with a ducting clip or jubilee clip, then tape the joint.
Is it the same diameter as my fan?
Use the same size as your fan's spigot, e.g. a 6" fan takes 6" (152mm) ducting.
