Cultiwool Rockwool Transplanting Cubes – The Halfway House Between Cutting and Pot
The most dangerous moment in a young plant's life isn't the cutting, it's the move. A fresh root system that has only ever known a tiny propagation plug suddenly finds itself in a huge pot of compost, where it can drown, sulk or simply stall. Professional growers have long solved this with an intermediate step, and Cultiwool Rockwool Transplanting Cubes are it: a larger, sterile, perfectly aerated block that lets roots fill out properly before they face the wider world.
Simply drop your rooted propagation cube into the hole, water, and let the roots spread through the whole block. The result is a dense, healthy root ball that transplants with barely a pause in growth.
Perfect For
Rooted houseplant cuttings (Pothos, Philodendron, Monstera, Hoya, Scindapsus), converting plants to semi-hydro or LECA, tomato and chilli seedlings started in rockwool plugs, hydroponic systems, and any grower who wants clean, uniform, disease-free root development.
Key Benefits
- Quick, even water uptake: RHP certified at the highest category for wetting up
- Ideal rooting environment: holds plenty of water while keeping a porous, airy structure
- Clean and sterile: free from pests, weeds and disease
- Completely inert: no nutrient content and no nutrient lockout, so every feed is available immediately
- Holds its structure: can be saturated and re-saturated without breaking down or clogging systems
- Algae-resistant: drainage grooves and black-and-white foil keep algae at bay and roots raised
How to Use
Pre-soak cubes in pH-adjusted water (around pH 5.5) before use. Insert your rooted propagation plug into the hole, making sure the hole size suits your plug, then water through. Once roots emerge from the base, pot on into soil, coco, LECA or a hydro system.
🌿 Rose's Pro-Tip: rockwool holds more water than it looks like it does. Let the cube lighten noticeably in weight between waterings; lifting it is the best moisture meter you'll ever own.
Sizes
75mm (3") cubes with small hole (28/35mm), sold individually, and 150mm (6") cubes, 150 × 150 × 142mm.
