VitaLink Hydro MAX Grow A&B – Hydroponic Growth Feed (Hard & Soft Water)
VitaLink Hydro MAX Grow A&B – Hydroponic Growth Feed, Made for Your Water
Here's something most nutrient bottles don't tell you: the water you mix them into is already half the recipe. Hard tap water arrives loaded with calcium and magnesium, and soft or rainwater has almost none. One formula can't be right for both, which is why VitaLink makes Hydro MAX in Hard Water and Soft Water versions. Pick the one that matches your tap, and the balance in the reservoir is right before your plants drink a drop.
Hydro MAX Grow is a highly concentrated two-part growth nutrient for every kind of hydroponic system, from transplant through to the first signs of flowering. Fulvic acid and chelated micronutrients improve uptake, and its EDDHA-chelated iron stays available across a wide pH range, so plants don't go short even during their fastest growth.
Perfect For
- Hydroponic leafy crops and herbs: lettuce, basil and salad leaves, from start to finish
- The growth stage of fruiting crops: tomatoes, chillies, peppers and strawberries
- All hydro systems: deep water culture, NFT, aeroponics, flood and drain, and run-to-waste drip
- Any inert medium: clay pebbles, perlite, rockwool and Mapito
- Semi-hydro houseplants: Monstera, Philodendron, Pothos and Hoya in LECA, at the low end of the dose
Key Benefits
- Two-part A&B formula, highly concentrated so it goes a long way
- Hard Water and Soft Water versions matched to your tap water
- Fulvic acid and chelated micronutrients for efficient uptake
- EDDHA iron stays available even at higher pH
- Very stable mixed solution, ideal for recirculating systems
- Doesn't affect the flavour of herbs, salads and vegetables
Hard or Soft Water?
Test your tap water's EC, or check your water company's hardness data by postcode. EC 0.0–0.3 or rain/RO water: choose Soft Water. EC 0.4–0.5: either works. EC above 0.5: choose Hard Water. Much of England, including the Midlands, the South and the East, has hard water.
How to Use
| Stage | Dose (each of A and B) |
|---|---|
| Seedlings, young plants and semi-hydro houseplants | 1–2ml per litre |
| Established, actively growing plants | 3–4ml per litre |
Shake both bottles well. Always add equal amounts of A and B, stirring between parts. Never mix them together undiluted. Adjust pH to 5.8–6.5 if needed. Switch to Hydro MAX Bloom when flowers start to form.
🌿 Rose's Pro-Tip: leafy crops like lettuce and basil can stay on Hydro MAX Grow all the way to harvest. They never need a flowering feed, because the leaves are the harvest.
