Plagron Cocos A+B – Why Coco Needs a Feed of Its Own

Coco coir is one of the best things you can grow in: airy, clean, peat-free and almost impossible to compact. But it's also completely inert. It holds no nutrients of its own, so everything a plant gets has to come from the feed. Coco also tends to grab calcium and magnesium for itself. A general-purpose feed can leave coco-grown plants quietly short of the very minerals they need most. Cocos A+B is Plagron's answer: a concentrated mineral base feed made specifically for buffered coco, covering both growth and flowering from one set of bottles.

Why Two Bottles?

Calcium and phosphorus are both essential, but mix them together at full strength and they bind into a solid the plant can't absorb. So Plagron keep them apart: Part A carries the calcium, Part B carries the phosphorus. Added to water separately, they're diluted before they ever meet and stay fully available to the roots.

Key Benefits

  • Complete base feed for coco, from growth to flowering
  • Directly absorbable mineral nutrients
  • Taken up across a wide pH range, a useful buffer when pH isn't perfect
  • Highly concentrated: a 1L set makes up to 250 litres of feed

Perfect For

  • Houseplants in coco: Calathea, Pothos, Philodendron and aroids in coco or coco/perlite mixes, at the low end of the dose
  • Coco-grown veg: tomatoes, chillies, peppers and strawberries in coco bags and pots
  • Growers: hand-watered or drip-fed coco, including Plagron Cocos Premium and our coco mixes

How to Use

  • Dose: up to 4ml of Part A per litre, stir, then the same amount of Part B. Never mix A and B together neat.
  • When: at every watering, through growth and flowering. Keep coco moist so salts don't build up.
  • pH: in 100% coco, adjust to 5.5–6.5 after mixing.
  • Houseplants: 1–2ml of each per litre is plenty.

🌿 Rose's Pro-Tip: Plagron print their feed charts per 10 litres, not per litre like most brands. "40ml" on a Plagron chart means 4ml per litre. Read it like a CANNA chart and you'll overfeed tenfold.
